What is Schuma’s Path?
Schuma’s Path, now known as Pinehurst Road, carries the legacy of an ancient Indigenous trail that once connected people to the natural world. By naming our nonprofit Schuma’s Path, we honor the deep historical and cultural significance of this land, which was originally a path that linked communities to the environment.
Today, Schuma’s Path is dedicated to continuing that connection by preserving native plants, collaborating with land conservation efforts, and offering educational workshops that foster a deeper appreciation for nature. Through hands-on experiences and sustainable growing practices, we promote culinary and food security initiatives while nurturing the relationship between people and the land. Just as the original path helped guide people through the landscape, we aim to guide individuals and communities toward a more sustainable and mindful future.
